Pages of a novel

On Wednesday I met up with a few of my uni friends to go have lunch together. Since we've practically been to all the places in the city we tried to search online for any places we haven't been yet and Tam suggested Firefly. It's located in the city near Brisbane city hall.
They mainly sell pizza there as part of their lunch menu. The price is okay I guess, a tad on the expensive side but considering the atmosphere (and the fact that their customers are mostly business class adults) it's pretty decent. Pizzas were $10 no matter which flavour if you bought a drink so I decided to get a lemon and lime bitter.
We spent the remainder of the afternoon looking for trousers for our clinical placements and whilst browsing in myer I got forced into this pink dress which made me look like a 7 year old. Justin picked it, I had suggested a game where we dress everybody up in things they'd never wear but then.... (:" we just went to have dessert straight after. I made everyone stay to hang out hehe and we walked a little around southbank before going to see the light show.

Tam and I spent our time running in the sand whilst pk and justin refused to come down and join us ): so we ended up taking really creepy funny photos instead (which I shall not upload as you might not be able to sleep). It's okay, you can have Justin's modelling shots instead. Just kidding, I sneakily took a photo whilst he was looking away (well the one on the right anyway) you guys can obviously recognise a selfie when you see one.
  YAY group photo :3
We were shopping in Diva earlier (well mainly Tam & I) and we found this fake fringe thingy which was attached to a headband. Tam decided to try it on, looked pretty funny. Later on we  took a photo of tam again and to our surprise it came out really good (usually when we take photos of her it always comes out really looking really hilarious). It's okay tam, we've officially established that your true beauty is still able to be represented through a photo ;)
I finally got to eat my beloved churros :3 Sorry pk, I know you didn't really want any but thanks for agreeing so we could buy it for cheaper :').

When the light show finally started I was kind of disappointed. It wasn't as pretty as last year in my opinion and this time there were 'dancers' who pretty much just swayed back and forth on poles haha. It was kind of weird but nevertheless still more exciting that the usual brisbane.

We all headed off to San Churro afterwards to chill. It was my first time but instead of ordering any deserts I just got unsweetened earl grey tea. I felt so full of junk food that day, ate so much bad food. It was a really good night though :3

The next day I went to meet up with Janice and jen at around 1:00pm. We decided on having lunch at this little cafe in west end near Jen's house.
 Got a iced Matcha latte
and this open grilled sandwich with chorizos, red onion, cheese + chilli oil + stuff.... It was pretty nice :3 but a bit small considering it's price.
Janice and Jen!
Excuse my droopy face, I've been feeling terrible lately due to my hayfever allergies which have decided to start acting up TT I hope it gets better before clinical placements or they'll think I  have this horrible cold or something.

Well, time to go dinner now. Laters!! :)

Happy belated 18th to Jenwen :3  On saturday, I had the pleasure of attending Jennifer's 18th birthday celebration at Vapianos. Got to see heaps of people that I haven't seen in a long time, which was good.
It was a mixture of her university friends and highschool friends. Lily and Shelly (her sisters) were also there to help out.
I brought my camera thinking that I might use it if I got the chance, turns out that richie didn't bring his camera so we ended up using mine for the rest of the night. Quality isn't too bad considering it was pretty dark inside the restaurant I think.
 The Lee sisters!!!!
The restaurant was super packed to be honest, we had to wait almost 20 minutes to get to the front of the line for food but it was all good in the end. Richie ended up buying jen her first drink: Midori mixed with sprite. I'm surprised she didn't get drunk or dizzy unlike last time when she had a tiny bit of champagne and started to feel super sleepy.
 With the optom kids ;)
And miss popular right here ;) she should just go be a model already, so tall ;_; when I stand next to her I look like a 7 year old, pretty sad. She looks like a sexy flight-attendant lady and I'm a kid.
We were taking up so much space just so that we could take a few photos, turns out we were standing in a reserved area. Woops.
All the ladies......and kwok, who maintains that he is also a girl. He wishes his pecs were big enough.
 With justine and Minuri :3
All our state high buddies gathered together :) Jen was trying to drag all the guys to the girls table to introduce them to one another haha, it was pretty funny watching the guys walk awkwardly up to the table.
Jen made her own birthday cake, it was like citrus and passion fruit flavoured!!
We were meant to go to Bonsai botanika after dinner so jen could open her presents but then it was too full and there were like 15+ of us so we went into passiontree as a huge group and started pulling all the tables together. I think 2/3 of the tables were occupied by us. We just sat there shamelessly hogging all the tables in the middle of the room.
Richie was kind enough to drop a few of us home :)

Hey everyone :) I'm officially on holidays! Well only people in my course and myself since we have a three week break for clinical placements (everyone's allocated week is different though, hence the three week long break). I kind of started craving plain sponge/chiffon cake the other day so I decided to bake some. Didn't bother to grease the pan since I figured I'd be eating it anyway and nobody will see it's ugliness in real life haha.
I also went to hang out with Coco :) my ex chinese school buddy/ student that I tutor. Despite the fact that I tell her every week I'm pretty useless as a tutor she still insists I'm doing a great job. We went to have mexican food because she was craving. On that day I witnessed a proper shopping spree for the first time in my life. The girl literally blew almost $200 in the short three hours we had of shopping.
By the end of the day she was like:

'PENNY, i thought you were buying a dress for your great gatsby ball. Come ON, I cannot believe I've bought an whole entire outfit and you've still got nothing'

HAHAHA. It's so true though. She managed to get two shirts, one pair of shoes, four pairs of shorts. Okay actually more than one outfit. It's okay, whales don't go shopping much. My lame attempt at a joke you see, okay you're probably not laughing and wtf'ing me. I'm sorry.

Moving on....
I worked a total of 16 hours and a half within the span of two days, please let the cha-ching keep rolling in. It is also my dad's birthday today and he called me in the middle of work casually to tell me to get him the new iphone 5s. My poor savings, $869 gone with one swipe. It's okay, he paid me back just then. In celebration, we went somewhere different for dinner for once. Headed to SONO japanese restaurant, the one located at Portside Wharf.

Woops, my photography is evidently flawless.
It was the first time we ever dined in such a high class place in Australia. Mum made a booking and they took us to a private japanese-styled room with Tatami and we had to take off our shoes. Waitresses came and laid clothes on our laps for us.
Its so unfair, every person who meets sees me and my brother always tell him how much he's changed and he looks really handsome and when they seem me they're just like 'Oh, you still look the same as when you were young!!'. Sad life.

We went crazy ordering the dishes expecting to be fully stuffed but the dishes were smaller than we anticipated. The Karaage was amazing though, one of the best I've had. It was super crunchy and really succulent on the inside.
Aburi salmon roll!! My love. I still like Wagaya's one better though.
 Sushi combination large platter.
We also ordered sashimi combination (small platter) along with tasmanian salmon belly Ã€ la carte . The presentation of the dish was pretty awesome. It had like dry ice underneath so it was steaming under the dish.
We were trying out our camera in the middle of a pathway and a man walking past kindly offered to take a family photo for us. Yay for decent looking family portraits.
 The end!

I'm back again! Yesterday my day was literally jam packed, I had work and then jap tutor and then straight after I went to meet up with anisha so we could hang out. We met up in the city, originally we were going to go 'clubbing' but decided since it was our first time we'll just go check out Cloudland Bar, it was kind of daunting. We had dinner first though at Vapiano's and anisha convinced me to order myself my first ever cocktail (and my first ever alcoholic drink away from my house).
It was actually kind of a rip off to be honest, could you believe that I watched them cut off a slice of grape fruit and mash it before tipping two tiny tiny cups of alcohol into the cup before it totalled to $15 dollars? The drink merely filled 1/3 of my cup and they filled the rest with a gigantic scoop of ice and what I presume to be a tiny bit of sprite. It tasted decent though, anisha said it tastes really good for a cocktail. Didn't really feel different though, no effects.
We shared a barbecue pizza but half our toppings were missing because it was such a busy night that day ): Kind of just missed seeing the light show for the Brisbane festival but we went to check out the decorations anyway. I found the churro shop that I visited with elaine, richie and our siblings two years ago. I was so tempted to buy a churro since it'd been literally two years since I last had one but the line was too long and we were to go cloudland.
The surroundings were so pretty, the only time brisbane ever actually has something nice on display haha.

We went to cloudland afterwards for the first time ever, I kind of felt intimidated entering an 18+ place for the first time. It was so pretty though!! Originally gracie, nickie and anisha wanted to go clubbing but we settled for drinks instead since anisha and I weren't quite ready for it yet. I still think alcohol doesn't really taste that amazing to be honest haha, I just think cocktails are pretty, thats all.

Whilst waiting for gracie and nickie to turn up, anisha wanted to get more drinks so we bought an apple cider each. Tasted kind of just like beer to me and I still felt completely normal. Guess I'm very tolerant to alcohol like my dad. I'd still prefer juice any day though, haha. Later on in the night, I had another creep magnet incident....

Anisha left a bit early so it was just gracie, nickie and I sitting at a table before we were approached by two guys who came from a bigger group all wearing dress shirts and formal trousers. One was asian and looked really creepy because he was the only one not wearing a dress shirt but a hawaiian style red shirt. They both came up and started talking to us/ asking us to dance. It was actually so damn creepy and gracie+nickie just sat their ignoring them and being chill whilst I freaked out secretly. I really need to learn to just ignore people though but I feel kind of bad :s they kept telling us they were co-partner/ownership of cloudland and they were just seeing how things were going. What a lie.

Then they finally walked away thank god because we were being so unresponsive and my mum suddenly texted. They literally just walked away after telling seeing the text. A few minutes later though, one of the caucasian guys from before started waving at us and brought another friend over to our table before walking away. The guy was so creepy, he came over and started leaning on our table and saying hi to us before going

'Just saying, you three are the hottest chinese girls I've ever seen together in my whole life. You guys look stunning'

I decided to make it awkward and tell him that none of us were chinese except gracie. He left after that, telling us that 'I'll leave it at that, have a good night ladies'. HAHAHAHAHAHA. It was so creepy though. I blame it on gracie's backless shirt.

Woke up this morning and dragged myself to chinese school... but its okay, my teacher is awesome. The school made us do some stupid test about chinese history though, which we know nothing about because its so random and all. They got a class filled with taiwanese people to answer questions about china more than 300 years ago, nice.  They even had the test in simplified chinese so the teachers were reading it out to us. So fail though because they were legitimately hinting at all the answers to all of us (we sat the test with a few other classes). It went pretty much like,
'is the answer : A, b, or c ? A????

What in the world haha.

Got a selfie with my awesome teacher!!

Okay I'm off to watch movies now. I'm on holidays for the next three weeks. Wooooooooooo!
