Pages of a novel

Sup Y'all :)
Once again I still find my days packed with events yet I don't feel like I'm on holidays for some reason, probably because I have so many obligations i.e. work. I went to watch Catching fire last sunday and boy, I am IMPRESSED. One of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen, they even included a lot of the symbolic parts!

On monday a couple of us met up at southbank and Kaido drove us all the way to dreamworld since we bought our year passes a while back and decided we should put it to use. Luckily the weather was decent and it didn't rain or anything.

It was unbelievably hot though so we ended up hiding under some giant umbrella to eat our packed lunches (even though bringing food into dreamworld is technically not allowed ahem).
There weren't too many people so we got to go twice on rides we usually have to line up gazillion years for. I even made myself go on the giant drop twice because it feels so exhilarating. Actually I'm damn scared of heights and every time I'm on the ride I curse myself because I think that if the machine breaks somehow, I will have died for such a stupid reason. Anyway, I'm evidently still alive so yeah.

We were craving frozen coke the whole day so Kaido drove us all to hungry jacks on the way home and I remembered why I've always judged hungry jacks so much. I happily anticipated my nice frozen coke and what I got made my so sad, it was literally a big cup filled mostly with coke froth, a bit of ice and melted coke at the bottom. Tim ordered nuggets which looked like they had been soaked in oil (they were bright yellow) and Kaido's milkshake tasted like they only put flavouring inside. Yes, it was that concentrated. Maybe it was just that store, not too sure. Elaine says I'm just unlucky hahaha.

We had a 'rest' at elaine's house for a while on the way home because Kaido was really tired and we ended up staying for dinner.

Anyway, on another note…. I decided to make some macarons after three months of having not baked anything. Thank god they didn't fail. I still need to get better at piping though. These babies are for my dear Alice's birthday ;) my lovely chinese school friend who loves food.

Laters! I have a sad life, work from 9:00-5:30pm tomorrow.

P.s I've saved a little over $4000 now!! Yipee!! Looks like I might make my goal of saving $5000 after all (if I decide not to go back to Taiwan over the summer holidays).

Hello guys! I swear the time between my next blog posts keep getting longer, probably because I have so little time to myself now I just end up reading or something when I actually do have time. Anyway, now that I'm officially on holidays, I'll probably be blogging more often (If I actually have anything interesting to say that won't bore you guys to death).

A couple of days ago, the QUT guild/ MedRad crew finally uploaded the photos they took at the Great Gatsby ball :) So here they are!

Oh and my wig FINALLY decided to arrive AFTER the ball :') Oh well, it doesn't really look like the hairstyle from the 1920's anyway.
I literally wish I had this much hair ^ I'm getting so bald nowadays its not even funny. Anyway, moving on from my 'baldness'…

here is a picture with my boyfriend :)

JOKES, SHE'S ACTUALLY A GIRL. GOTCHA THERE!

Okay sorry, excuse my lameness. On the 13th of November I finally finished all my uni exams!! (Oh joy, after literally three days in a row filled with exams). To celebrate, Pk, Tam, Justin & I went to Wagaya for dinner. We've been thinking of going since the start of the year except we never got around to it haha.
Our mocktails!! It was also on this day we had a very very disturbing conversation. Ahem.
The next morning I went to meet up with Janice for breakfast at the Five sisters Cafe and for some reason I felt like trying something different so I got the Haloumi platter :) It was actually surprisingly good, and my first time eating greek food. I loved their salad soooooo much. First time tasting haloumi cheese as well!

 My friend got Nachos!
It was such a hot day that day and I dragged us to the cafe which coincidentally had no aircon. I'm sorry janice!! We went to buy pink hairdye for her that day :3 since she was dying the ends of her hair bright pink. I laughed so hard when she told me her mum said to cut the bleached parts off because it looks like Hay.

The next morning, I crawled out of bed again somehow and went to eat breakfast with Sunny, elaine & georgina at Shingle inn :)
Yeah, this is who I'm friends with. Sad I know.
I ordered some Chicken Crepe dish and someone else got this burger set. It was decent but I think for me, it tasted slightly on the bland side. As in, I had to keep adding salt to it, hopefully the old ladies next to us weren't judging me like crazy.

On saturday I went to chinese school as per usual (sad life). I can't believe I'm the only university student in my class.  A couple of us went to sunnybank plaza after that to meet up with our old chinese school teacher & classmates for a reunion though :) The original plan was to eat at Hatakaya ramen since I've never tried it except the line was too long :')…..

Day after that I chilled with Janice, jennifer, kwok and vincent at Jen's house and we ended up leaving at 8pm after having Pizza for dinner. The next few days after that were so depressingly filled up with work and other stuff but I got to go out again yesterday with Jen and hang out with her for the afternoon. Then I proceeded to have dinner with my uni friends again :) (justin, pk, Tam).

We've literally tried almost all the food places in the city so we decided to go to southbank this time and eat at Ahmet's since I've we've been hearing so much about how good it is and all. Got there and we were trying to pronounce the food names and failed epically.

 Ali Nazik
 Sucuk Pide

We also ordered this mixed platter which had lamb in it, surprisingly I actually found it decent even though I don't usually like lamb. Pretty interesting experience :3

Like the fat kids we were, it was dessert after dinner for us ! Went to Max brenners and ordered Tutti Frutti Waffles which actually made me so sad because it used to taste so good but when we went last night it was all stale dodge.  Fingers crossed it was just that day.

We decided that Justin is the grandpa, tam is the mother, pk is my 'twin' brother' and I'm the 'twin sister'. Victoria is the little toddler, joon is the father and yoonie is the oldest sister. HAHAHA. Justin is such a poser :P

Whew! Okay I ended up typing like every single detail in my life for the past few days. Sorry! Anyway, time to eat breakfast ;) Oh the life of waking up late for once.

You know, this is a pretty trivial matter but I really got to say - translink never ceases to amaze me with its bad service. Okay so yes, Brisbane has a pretty small population hence transport can't be as efficient as other places but on TOP of the buses being late or not coming at all, some of the drivers also have really bad attitudes. I mean seriously?

We pay taxes for proper transport and customer service and I'm not even being crazy picky here, I just think that some bus drivers really need to fix their attitude. It's not like the whole world owes them just because they're not in a good mood. A while back I was on the 130 and the bus driver kept snapping angrily at anyone who dared ask him a question. Eventually, an elderly couple got onto the bus and they were probably foreign and couldn't speak english properly. Whilst the driver was driving, the old man went up quietly and tried to ask for directions and the bus driver was just like

'Sit down. CAN'T YOU SEE I'M DRIVING?! I SAID SIT DOWN NOW!'

The old man couldn't understand properly so he stood there and paused for a while before getting out his map to ask where to get off and then the bus driver was like

'I can't understand you. Sit the f*** down.'

All the while, he was yelling and other people who asked him stuff were told to sit down without explanation, the driver just flat out refused to answer until he felt like it. Thank goodness a young guy probably about 20 years old stood up to help the old man out and he was telling the driver to calm down and to stop yelling at the old man since it's obvious he's having difficulty with english. You know what the driver did next? He was like 'WELL WHY DON'T YOU TALK TO HIM IN YOUR OWN LANGUAGE THEN? '  Then he proceeded to ignore the bus bell and the young guy missed his stop.

Another instance was today, I was sitting on the bus quietly reviewing some study material before the bus suddenly screeches to a halt in the middle of the road and I get thrown across the seats. Then, the driver, too caught up in being angry at the car in front stomps on the brakes AGAIN to avoid crashing. And so, after being thrown across two seats, I then slam into metal railings near the bag rack and now my collar bone is swollen.

Even my fellow passengers on the bus looked on in aghast, half of them also got slammed forward (they were in the two seaters whereas I was sitting in the three seater area which wasn't facing forwards). So instead of apologizing (and yes it was also the driver's fault because she drove too closely to the car in front), she is angrily cursing the driver and doesn't even check if anyone is alright. Even my fellow passengers noticed me flying across the seats and asked if I was alright.

Argh. Not even being picky and all, pretty sure I've tolerated translink pretty well for a long time. Just not happy with the attitude of some drivers.

Sometimes as though I am so incapable of tasks which are so easy for everyone else, how can I be so slow and my performance can be negatively influenced purely from nerves, even if it is something I took effort to prepare for.

It's not even that I didn't put effort, I really did try to get every detail correct and I wrote gazillion notes and practiced yet I still managed to read the question wrong and make the biggest most stupid error which will cost me heaps of marks. I can't do the simplest of tasks without doing something stupid.

What is it with me?

I swear after all these exams I am going to do some retail therapy, no point in working so much and not using it.

Then commence summer holidays fitness plan!

I feel like I'm so so so screwed for exams. I have so much to study for and I can barely concentrate enough and tomorrow one of my students needs help with maths so I have to go tutor her and I also have jap tutor tomorrow which means I'm doing homework right now instead of studying for my uni exams. Kind of having a crazy panic attack right now. Omg omg omg omg…. ): ): Seriously, I am so screwed.

Hi guys, I'm still alive don't worry. Well I kind of want to just quit uni at this moment because I hate studying so much. Who am I joking, I'm not even studying half as much as I should be. Oh well. Nothing eventful has happened except for work :) I got to work on halloween so we were allowed to dress up. My colleague rachel convinced me to buy cat ears from Daiso so we could all match as register ladies.

She told us to pose like cats -  japanese style
Haha I have awesome managers, one dressed up as a mummy and the other as Dracula.

I remember once when I was younger I tried to dress up as a mummy and instead of using bandages like a smart person I used toilet paper… you can all guess how well that turned out. Especially because I went to school dressed up like that.
meet brodie, the giant teddybear
It was pretty funny watching the expressions on people's faces when they saw our managers.
Obviously we were not shirking our duties :P
One of our friends almost left with all the makeup wipes and we were figuring out how to get it off since we didn't want to look like freaks on the bus.

Wish I could've gone trick or treating - the last time I remember doing that was back in grade 5 or something. During that time we even accidentally came across one of our teacher's houses. How awkward. Some people didn't even know what halloween was.

Oh well, one day one day.
