Pages of a novel

Hello guys! I'm actually seating in the garden city food courts right now shamelessly leaching off the free wifi but whatever. I have a few hours to kill so thought I'd take the chance to do a bit of blogging. It's a bit alarming how fast my summer holidays are disappearing, in a few weeks it'll be back to uni again (for five weeks before i go on placement again). Sooo I've pretty much been trying to get out of the house as much as possible. My brother is currently in japan with his friends and I am so jealous. To make up for it I went to visit GOMA with vincent the other day.

There was a japanese future fashion exhibition that I sorta wanted to see but I think you had to pay for it so we ended up just wandering around in the free sections; there were a few interesting pieces on display. I won't even try to pretend I understand art :p

I actually have no idea what I'm doing in the above pictures but whatever. This was just a little before we came across a series of disturbing graphic artworks ahem. Ohhhh and I finally visited the sticker room and am probably the last one in Brisbane to do so. Okay obviously I am exaggerating but thats okay :3

These holidays a favourite cafe of mine has actually been Shouk Cafe.  Of all the times I've been, the food presentation has been amazing and the general atmosphere is really bright and fresh. I really wanna take Jenwen there when she comes back. I tried being healthy last time I went by ordering the "health bowl"  HA HA HA i know. I couldn't resist ordering a side of bacon though... since the bowl was practically vegetarian.
I've been making the most of my Movieworld VIP pass by visiting all the theme parks the pass encompasses :3 We went to wet 'n' wild the other day because it'd been hot a few days before. It was really fun except for the fact it started pouring rain halfway through so the rides got shut down for a little while.

Didn't get to go on every single ride but it was still fun nevertheless :3 more so because I was with friends as well! I was actually so knackered by the end of the day but managed to drag myself to a work meeting and work out afterwards. Wow I'm actually sticking to my new years resolutions.
The few days I'm at home, I sort of just end up mucking around; in other words, I try and start a few girly hobbies like painting my nails. Tried out japanese newspaper nails the other day. I have a habit of being really impatient with doing nails and always end up wrecking it by touching something before it dries. #firstworldproblems
I also bought a few new products from work: feet masks and a make up brush cleanser!
I have the other "woman's detergent for make up sponges" product and it works like a charm for my make up brushes but I couldn't resist getting this new one simply because it says its made specifically for cleaning brushes.
Following that, I bought my first sports bra!!!! Oh and uh new eyeliner too. I have yet to master the art of eyeliner but thats okay. Retail therapy yeah? Putting some of my work pay to use (besides paying of my study fees, sad life).
I met up with coco (my student) for one last time the other day; the girl is moving to Melbourne for fashion school. I'm so proud she got in!! But yeah to my shock she rocked up with this bag........
COACH. Oh my goodness D:
It was as thanks for teaching her the past two years but still. I feel as though I in no way deserved this.

Anyhow, that is pretty much all for now! Will update soon hopefully but until then, laters!

Hey guys! As per usual I find myself blogging late at night - it seems to be the time where I find all of my inspiration, motivation and other random sorts of feelings. I guess with the bustling brightness during the day it is easy to just laze about and look on listlessly at my computer screen but yeah. Anyhow, back the main point. I haven't really been updating properly have I? To be honest I spend a large majority of my time making food nowadays - well on the days I cannot find company that is what I find myself doing.

I've been trying to eat a bit healthier these days coupled with exercise. However, I don't think i'm quite succeeding in the food aspect.
For instance, the other day I found myself attempting poached eggs for the first time.Poached eggs however, were surprisingly easy to make.

You basically crack an egg into a bowl first and set it aside. Then you fill a small pot with water until it is about 8cm deep before adding a pinch of salt and dash of vinegar (helps the egg to stay together). You bring the water to a gentle gentle boil and leave it on low temperature. Taking a spoon, you make swirling motions to create a mini whirlpool. Bring the bowl with the egg inside close to the water and gently slip the egg into the water. The swirling motion of the water helps wrap the egg white around the egg yolk :3 and if needed you can keep using a spoon to continue that motion.

Depending on the consistency with which you want your egg yolk, cooking time is around a minute or two (take the egg out and prod it softly, if it is relatively soft then you know the yolk is still runny).
So there we go: poached egg with rye toast, ham, avocado, cream cheese and dried chives. Of course, a poached egg dish wouldn't be complete if I didn't cut the egg open.... TADA!
I think I have this obsession with poached eggs now. Ahem.
Let me entertain you with another boring picture of one of my "healthy" brunches. Pk and Tam actually came over the other day and somehow coaxed me into working out. We went upstairs and did some exercise together for the first time- I was actually dying but since they went on with minimal rest I continued on so as to avoid humiliation HAHAHA. Girls will be girls however and we rewarded ourselves after by dolling up and going out for dinner!
Few days later I went with Vincent to have some pizza on Mt gravatt lookout. I tried to order the healthier option, I really did.
I've been slipping up epically in the food department - I can have a healthy breakfast one day and then I find myself having fried chicken and desserts. However, it is okay; little progress is better than no progress right?

I'm loving home made banana milk these days :3 // tried out green tea creme brûlée at sweet treats the other day! This was all like in the past two weeks by the way - I've literally been eating so much unhealthy food this week but oh well. Caught up with Anisha the other day at her belated 20th birthday celebration at Ole! (spanish restaurant in southbank).
I cannot remember the Spanish name of this dish but basically it was something along the lines of pork loin with chorizo and some kind of white bean mash.
Was rather tasty I suppose but left me rather thirsty. Ten out of ten for presentation though.

I recently bought a VIP package to seaworld, movie world and wet 'n' wild so I've just being visiting theme parks the past few days. For instance, a group of friends and I headed off to seaworld! There wasn't very many rides but I still prefer marine animals over normal animals.
 Dolphin show!
A cute as polar bear who made everybody coo when it started doing somersaults in the water. We mostly finished up with watching a sea lion show (it was a play of sorts).
annnnnnd that was pretty much it :) It was such a humid day I really regretted wearing jeans.

Well that is all for now - I'm a bit knackered from exercise today (haha just kidding, i just know I should be heading to bed soon). Sooo good night, or should I say morning? Let tomorrow be a new day with positive vibes!

I've been doing some reading for myself lately and I just want to remember some points that I should carry out.

  • Do not dwell in the past, hope for the future or else you will miss the present
  • Small steps, there will always be set backs but trying to go some place is better than not taking a step at all
  • Be busy - do things to make myself happy rather than waiting for something to come make me happy
  • Try replace negative thoughts with positive ones; or at least place less weighting on them

That's all for now :3 It may be difficult but I should come back and look at these points; they do seem like it'll make a big difference. I do these things so I can try find happiness in myself rather than looking elsewhere for it, since that creates unnecessary pressure. It seems rather vulnerable writing all these things up but its late yet again and most of my random thoughts seem to come out like that at this time.

I am also on my second week of exercising!! I've kept it up - for which I am proud. Baby abs come at me please. Haha just kidding, it will be a while yet. Anyhow, I should probably hit the hay now; good night to you all!

Habit. The way we are used to thinking and the way with which we approach things often comes down to our habits. It is a constant battle really, to change; because we are so comfortable or familiar with the way we are now. I feel like its a struggle to stay afloat sometimes, to keep from having negativity and insecurity seep into my life -the two of which are my main flaws.

As much as I hate the way it is sometimes I guess it is just important to remember that these moments don't last forever; there are tiny achievements and happiness in life which make it worthwhile. Just because I find great frustration in the way I am sometimes doesn't mean I'm not making progress. Everybody has their struggles. As cliche as it sounds, I begin to feel like life really isn't very long. I want to explore the world, see wonders, become an amazing person and love passionately without abandon. Oh how very corny. How very old I sound, when I still want to have as much fun as any other teenager :3

It is late and I think I'm typing nonsense yet again. It is time for bed for I shall have to wake up early since I'm opening the store up with my manager tomorrow. Good night (or shall I say morning) to you all. I must also remember to live more for myself.

I just wanted to document that today I feel proud of myself ; the proudest I've been for a while. Unlike the previous years of making 'new years resolutions', this time I actually made effort to do something. Since monday this week I've exercised three times, not including walking around when I go out :3 It really doesn't sound like much but I went in with zero motivation but still did it anyway.

I am only in the beginning stages and I'm still terrified I'll slack off one day and just stop but it's okay. I've just got to remind myself how great this feeling is every single time. I hope to embark on a journey of becoming fit and becoming more optimistic. Positive vibes.

Hello readers :) It may look like I'm suddenly such an outdoor person but really its not like that. Today vincent invited me to go to currumbin wildlife sanctuary with a couple of his friends so we embarked on a one hour plus trip there.

The entry fee was like $40 for concession and to be honest I don't think it was really worth the price because I saw the exact same thing (if not better in my opinion) at lone pine for much cheaper. Perhaps it was the fact that the sanctuary was so large yet we didn't see much or the fact that it rained halfway but it didn't really match up to my expectations considering the price. Either way though, company was good and I saw an owl that looked like hedwig!
We walked around and watched a few shows before deciding to leave at around 4:30pm. On the way to the car however we spontaneously decided to go visit the beach which was right next to the sanctuary and I think it was well worth it.
Felt amazing to relax our feet in the water after half a day of trudging around in our sneakers (even if mine were free runs and i spent a large portion of my time trying not to dirty them since they're brand new).
We attempted a few jumping shots which some sort of success!
Take 1! I have a habit of eating my hair when it comes to any form of physical exertion. I'm surprised I made it off the ground at all considering I EXERCISED YESTERDAY so I was sore the whole day. Are you all amazed? I'm amazed; even if the struggle was real. I felt like I was dying but I pulled through.
Take 2! Whoops I accidentally cut off the tips of their fingers.
We didn't actually end up swimming at all since it was already late afternoon and we had a long journey back but the weather was really good and there weren't that many people around :3
Actually to be honest I was under the impression currumbin wildlife sanctuary was more of a bush walk for some reason and turned up in exercise gear. For the first time. Ended up looking like some sort of backpacker / traveller thanks to the kathmandu backpack my parents made my buy for overseas travel last time. I regret not bringing togs, the weather was perfect for swimming.
I made it through today with two sore legs; I'm not exaggerating, it was so sore i had trouble stepping on the bus this morning!! Tomorrow I'll be doing more exercise fingers crossed. Although I don't feel intense motivation, at least I'm doing it. Fake it till you make it right? HAHA I don't really believe that saying but anyhow.

Good night to you all :3

Some things I'm so glad to have, no matter the amount of difficulties I occasionally encounter with it. There seems to an increasing amount of things I never want to let go of. Memories and things I want to make irrevocably mine forever, untouched by circumstances and time.

Hello guys! Yesterday I went on my first adventure of 2015 :3 Vincent and I met up around lunch time to buy some food supplies (namely biscuits, guacamole, salami & cheese) before we headed off towards the Tambourine mountains. It was sort of a spontaneous decision since we hadn't fully decided which part of the mountain to go to but we ended up deciding on Cedar creek falls.
Actually as a child I went through a phase of passionately hating bushwalking/ observing scenery but I think perhaps with age I'm slowly beginning to appreciate it. It was one of the first times not going with only my family. We also bought some nikumaki for lunch (oven baked japanese rice balls with marinated sliced pork etc. ) from Nikumaki Honpo located in warrigal square.
This is our one and only non-selfie photo together of the trip since a man saw us trying to take selfies with our food shamelessly (and failing) and offered to take the photo for us. It was actually raining slightly when we were about to start snacking but luckily it lightened up when we were just about finished with our food. Typical me didn't even think to bring a picnic mat even though we originally planned to have a picnic. Oh and I went and left my umbrella in the car too, i'm a genius I know.
The walk was actually very very short, I was expecting something like at least a 15-20 minute bush walk but it was just a pathway that lead all the way down to the rock pools. We didn't bring togs since it wasn't anticipated we'd be allowed to swim in the rock pools but it was okay; we slowly clambered our way down and watched other people swim ;)
Despite signs indicating clearly 'no climbing', there was a few kids fearlessly climbing the cliff face and jumping off it into the water.  I think I'm much to straight laced to do something like that anymore. If you'd asked me a few years back, I probably would've done it - no doubt with zero consideration of safety.
It was so hot and we ran out of the barley tea I brought along so we drove up the mountain randomly and found a cafe to buy cold drinks from. We actually had no idea where we were heading but eventually we came across a lookout Vincent accidentally found with his friends last time.

I pointed at some random mountain and lied to vincent that it was the glasshouse mountains. Then we spotted a map? of sorts with the names of different mountains and what direction they lay in, which brought my troll to an end.

The view was pretty good ; I actually saw a family whip out their selfie stick for photos and they weren't even asian. I'm not being racist, was just surprised because its not a sight you often see :P
Had dinner at Mappen because its both cheap and delicious. I went to buy some milk tea but Andy was working and used points he redeemed himself to give me TWO milk teas for free (one for vincent one for myself). I feel so guilty. Vincent and I shall drag him out one day and shout him dinner.

That's all for today :3 Oh and..... I may or may not kick myself for saying this but I THINK I SHALL START EXERCISING TOMORROW.
