Pages of a novel

I guess I really shouldn't have expected so much, no matter what you might've been like in the past. I was left waiting for something that would never come, as I discovered this afternoon. Guess I can't really be surprised that you didn't bother to tell me yet again. It's merely just a repetition of new years eve after all. Perhaps I'll actually dedicate my efforts to forgetting you now.

Moving on to other more cheerful albeit random topics~

Guess what this is?

Contrary to it's appearance, these are actually chocolates. Quite genius aren't they? I did feel an urge to bring them to uni just to see who I could trick. They're from japan.  Mum tried to trick me into believing they were rocks (she bought them in Japan because she was so fascinated with them). Too bad I had already seen these before.

I kind of decorated my room a few months ago. Elaine since you haven't turned up at my house I guess might as well post up a picture for you to see instead ;) Haha. My artistic ability is limited and I can't draw perfect looking block letters so I just stuck with strewing my pictures randomly across the wall.

Yeah, that's about all for today! Sorry, I know I write really crappy posts. It's amazing people still bother to read hahaha. Until I finish my assignments properly, nothing too interesting will be cropping up in my life I'm presuming.

Goodnight!

Happy birthday to Jonathan, my ex-chinese school buddy

& of course,   my dearest little brother.

You are finally sixteen and despite the fact that somebody ruined it for you like they did for me, at least Iron man 3 made up for it tonight and of course the cupcakes you received from your friends at school. Your first time getting presents from friends at state high.
Haha bad photo but tis the only one.

It's okay, here is a cute one of you.

I actually tried to get buy him this book he wanted from Dymocks for his birthday present so I lied to him that I was getting a novel for myself and left him with the icecream I bought for myself whilst I headed into the store to look for it. Five minutes later he texts me telling me to hurry up so I didn't end up finding the book. Instead, I exit the store only to discover my brother had finished all my ice cream. Imagine that sad sad moment when you attempted to be such a nice sister but was rewarded with ultra-suckiness HAHA. He had no idea -_-

Moving on....
We celebrated by going out for dinner and then our parents dropped us off at myer centre to watch Iron man 3. Yes we've upgraded from southbank ;) Nah just kidding, it's only because the tickets are now so much cheaper for me since I'm a QUT student and we get discount. The rest of the night wrapped up quite nicely. Would've wanted to get him a cake and candles though...

Anyway, coincidentally my mum also got back from taiwan, so my brother managed to get his hands on the gundam he got my mother to get him. She also brought back tonnes of stuff. One of the perks of being a girl is, they are so much easier to shop for.
More baking stuff/ glasses case, keyring & socks (how exciting i know)

She also got me tonnes of stickers, I have no idea why though. They are rather cute though aren't they?
 Japanese magazines
Gazillion bags of lollies/ snacks all from japan.
 Two backpacks
Such cute candies!! One of them is Sakura edition too

She also brought back quite a few articles of clothing :3 Yes instead of doing my anatomy assignment I was taking photos of everything. Sorry guys, I have no life.
I wonder if I look like a uni student yet D:

Oh and forgive me for being so easily excitable but for dinner my brother & I went to grab maccas and we ordered this new mean green fanta or something like that. I personally found the colour of it rather fascinating.

Tis all for today! Good night everyone :)

Hello everyone!

I had the whole day off today but decided to head to QUT to wait for jen to finish her lecture so we could meet up with Justine & pennie at the city. I haven't seen them in ages so it was really good to catch up. State high friends will always be state high friends!

We headed to Madtongsan II for lunch, I ordered kimchi pork soup again. I swear that's the only thing I ever eat whenever I dine at a korean restaurant. Justine & Pennie's dishes were so spicy they could barely eat half of it and ended up packing the rest into a takeaway box.
We spent a long long time at the Daiso which just opened up in myer centre. I really think they should have hired more asians though, the store gave off such a pharmacy like feeling since the logo was purple and white. I also overheard some japanese people walking by discussing how the way the staff said 'Welcome' in Japanese was so weird. Perks of having learnt japanese = overhearing interesting amusing things.

We also bumped into Linda & Kerrin while we were there and ended up shopping for the rest of the afternoon with them. Jen went back to find her high waisted skinny jeans but they were sold out, even though she only tried them on like four days ago.

Oh and I spotted a sign saying the store was searching for retail assistants so being the job desperate person I am, I immediately ran off to officeworks to print my resume before handing it in. Hopefully they interview me, I attempted to be bubbly and all when I was giving it in, sadly that's not exactly my forte. Oh well. Fingers crossed. I NEED CASHHHHHH ;_; The sad thing is, I spend around %70 of my money on food these days. Ironically right after thinking about how much I needed cash, I went into valley girl and came out with a pair of shorts and a high waisted skirt.

All my shopping urges which have been pent up over the years has suddenly exploded this year. Actually no, I didn't even like shopping a few years ago. Okay I'm gonna go study for my anatomy quiz now and hopefully start one of my two assignments.....

I decided that since I've taken an interest to macarons, I might as well try shop bought ones just to see the difference. I decided to get lavender and salted caramel flavoured ones. All I can glean from these macarons are that they seem to have harder shells and less of a almond flavour. Oh and the sweetness is more obvious too. I haven't made macarons in a while...
I can't believe they were $2.60 each, such a ridiculous price!! Maybe I should get good at making them and sell them with jen muahaha.

It just struck me today that I have the next four days off, which means no uni. YAY!!!! I managed to drag myself to principles of medical radiation this morning and despite being concentrated for the first part of the lesson, all of us succumbed to procrastination... three hours listening to someone read off a slide.
Contestants of Australia's next top model.

We decided to skip physics since it was only a mini tutorial thing anyway. Instead we went to the brisbane magistrates court. It was so awkward since it was our first time there and we were just casually walking along when we realised there were a bunch of camera men waiting at the entrance. I don't even know what they were waiting for since the whole building seemed silent and uneventful. Got our radiation license things sorted at and we went for lunch.
Grilled salmon sushi, egg sushi and avocado sushi

Tam got a milk tea from little singapore and she let me have a sip. It. Was. Amazing. Like no joke, it tasted sooooooo good :') Maybe I'll go buy milk tea from there next time.

Afterwards, Tam & yoonie left us but I managed to force victoria, justin & Pk to stay with me since I had to wait till 3:30pm to tutor someone. We ended up at nominom , another froyo place. I was being all cocky and demonstrating my froyo swirling skills (since I knew how to make soft serves from working at maccas) and I put too much. It ended up being $9.15, so expensive.

We spent almost two hours just talking about random things, well more like grilling justin about very interesting questions hahahahaha. Thanks for staying with me guys!! Twas a fun day, even better since we decided to skip our anatomy lecture tonight too (since it's just about the assignment anyway).

Hello guys! So happy that I finally got my patient care assignment out of the way. I spent all of yesterday discussing with Tam and victoria what we could do to improve it. To celebrate, I met up with Janice & Jen at the city just to hang out for a bit.

Her eyes look so big now!!

We dined at Vapiano again and I decided to try something a little different so I ordered 'small' antipasti. Which as you can see, wasn't so small after all. I found it so difficult to eat, couldn't figure out the proper way and it tasted a bit too oily/salty for my liking.
With the best friend.

I've taken a liking to boost and salad these days, so weird.

I may be like you, but I'm not completely blind to all the vices I have, nor am I as worthless as you make me out to be. I give up. Why bother pay effort when it'll fling back into my face simply because I'm not male, simply because you 'bank all your hopes' on your son who can continue the family name.

Just because you regard me as inferior, it doesn't mean you can treat me with respect next to zero.

I thought I'd be a loner in the QUT library today for 5 hours because I wasn't planning on going home after my anatomy prac which finished at 10:00am. I was going to 'study' or go and hang out with jen until it was time to tutor my friend but then I got things mixed up and Jen went home already. It ended up okay though since victoria & tam found me in the library and we went to eat korean food.
My kimchi udon soup with pork (and may i mention lots of not so yummy fish cake)
I still long for jap food more though. Kadoya why are you renovating??

Tam and victoria left for home after that so I wondered around scabbing macca's free wifi and suddenly natalie calls me and asks if I'm in the city. SAVED!!!!! I went with her so she could buy some lunch at Vapiano, the asian guy who cooked her pasta kept smiling at her so much he forgot which pasta she requested and made a mistake. Instead, he cooked up another bowl for her when he realised.

Her second bowl of pomodoro pasta which was $10 as they give you a discount on weekdays. Too bad I ate already. Managed to go see georgina today too, who was working at Chatime.

Went to tutor coco in the afternoon, it was so good to catch up with her again. That girl makes me laugh so much every time I talk to her. Anyway, I came home and cooked dinner........

 Eat up mibi&fuzz

Ha, in a super good because I pretty much gave myself a holiday today. Skipped all my lectures today and instead I caught up with sally who finally returned to brisbane from melbourne. She's leaving again soon though and will only be back next year ):

I was originally going to go to my anatomy lecture, I've never skipped (even though it starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm) but then vic & I got this strong urge to go karaoke. We ended up going for a maccas run before going to karaoke. We attempted to drag Tam as well but she literally hung onto a traffic light pole until we let go of her; instead she went home. Still, ahhh in a good mood :3 Rapping does wonders.

I wish somebody would spontaneously show up at my uni lecture and take me out to have a fun day ending with a lovely dinner. The repetitiveness of my university schedule gets to me more than my high school days ever did.

Still reminiscing my high school days. I loved our naivety, spontaneity and the fact that we did things because we genuinely wanted to, not because of obligation. I am so tired these days, I swear the only thing that's keeping me sane is reading a novel every night before I go to bed.

Aiming to attain these goals sometime in the future:
- Sign up for gym and go regularly
-Catch up in anatomy lectures
-Start eating healthy
-Clean up my room properly and organise everything
-Stop wasting time & do things productively

Yup tis all. I'll get the motivation to do eventually -fingers crossed-
Yeah I'm just gonna go back to reading Catching fire now :) Will start assignment tomorrow.....

I miss everythinggggggggggggggg.

I am so devastated. I just checked my phone and found out I missed four calls from an unknown caller ID. Now before you all think I'm disappointed over a random stranger's call, it's because I think there is a possibility that it could've been one of the places I applied for a job at. Well I saw on facebook today someone had gotten hired by the exact same place so......

I had to send in my application three times because I messed up availability times and now I missed their call (assuming it was them). If it was and they decided to give up on giving me a job I'll be so sad ): Hopefully this unknown caller calls again. GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCEEEEEEEE :')

On another note, I just noticed that I've earned $30 just by blogging. Well for having ad units on my blog muahaha. I still need a job...........

I still miss everyone in Japan.

Attempting to curl my hair with a straightener at 2am in the morning.

I've been in charge of cooking dinner, buying groceries and planning everyone's lunches for the week simply because I'm the girl in the family and my mum is still in Taiwan. It's not that I fully hate cooking or anything like that but the sexism of it really gets to me. Like I'm literally left on my own with the list of things which are 'my responsibility to plan'. Ridiculous really since it's almost as if I don't have my own things to do, like I'm just a housewife 24/7. My dad took me to buy groceries and we couldn't get a trolley so I literally had to haul everything by myself, my dad didn't even left a single hand to help out, just walked around picking up things he wanted and giving them to me. Apparently he was training me to respect my parents.

This is ridiculous. I'm not some hardcore feminist or anything but seriously gender equality would be nice. I stayed up until 1am yesterday after doing my anatomy test to make my dad three sandwiches & some stuff for my brother's lunch while they went to bed. Argh. Would've been alright if my dad asked me if I wanted to instead of just going like:

'oh yeah, you still haven't made our lunches yet'.

Oh and being female basically means I can't 'continue the family line' so no hope can be placed in anyone else but the son of the family. Just gets a little annoying sometimes. I guess my opinions are now based on western ideas rather than asian.

Well at least going grocery shopping means I can try out a few things I've always wanted to but never had the chance to. In this instance I decided to buy some almond milk, apparently its a good substitute for full cream milk. It looked interesting so I decided to give it a try. It does taste much better than milk on it's own of course. Obviously I'm not entirely sure I want to use it for making milk tea though.

I was busy the whole morning doing more filming for my assignment in SLQ again. Yes. With the clear glass windows. This time there were about 30 plus people outside holding some conference thing, how awkward. I finally had time for lunch at around 2:45pm only to find that some fire alarm thing was going on and I had to wait for another twenty minutes till it was safe to go back to the food court. I went to grab lunch at green bean and I swear the guy recognised me since I went twice last week. He looks really familiar as well and today he was like:

'oohh nice shoes'

I can't quite place whether it was sarcasm or not. Anyway, I seem to have taken a liking to chicken salad these days, not really that into beef and and stuff.
Came home and made some dinner (lazy style). It doesn't look very appealing does it? There was steak and rice as well because I couldn't be bothered thinking up other dishes.
-how to not cook nice dinner-

After having sushi at so many placed, I've concluded I still love the ones at Oishi Sushi near Pinelands shopping centre. It's always so fresh and the way they make it looks so appealing. I only bothered to snap one picture of the plates of food I had yesterday but it was great to finally eat a proper meal instead of surviving on crisps or whatever.
Salmon Sashimi - I like the little rose they made out of salmon at the back of the picture
I believe my brother & dad are actually posers

My dad suggested we go watch a movie after dinner so we headed off to Hoyts cinemas at sunnybank. We got our tickets for Oblivion and went off to the funhouse to kill some time before the movie started. I versed my brother in Tekken 2 and I'm proud to say I won quite a few games. I beat all my other guy friends I've versed and they say spamming buttons with no clue of what you're doing doesn't work. I beg to differ.

cue sighs of exasperation as I complain yet again how my brother has cheekbones and I don't

Just before the movie started, my brother went to hungry jacks to get a frozen coke and we were standing there for 10 minutes waiting, which was ridiculous considering they had like 5 customers tops. They completely forgot our order even though it was a measly cup of frozen coke. I might be biased but Maccas service is so much better. The lady who served my brother like 2 minutes ago literally did not remember his order at all and proceeded to make two other frozen cokes for the next customers.

Apart from that, the movie was pretty interesting if not a little long.
I kind of left the cinemas confused though, my brain was a little slow in getting what happened (:" I didn't really quite understand inception either. On another note....

the city of bones movie is coming out in august!!!
& Catching fire (hunger games 2) trailer is out tonight.

The movie of one of my favourite books is finally coming out this year. I hope they don't butcher it. Okay back to reading about brains and noses on a sunday afternoon. Gotta love anatomy.

The weather has gradually been cooling down these days. I'm actually so glad since that means soon I'll be able to actually arrive at uni without looking like a hobo who just stumbled out of the forest. Well considering my cheeks turn red and I sweat so easily, I'm pretty much the most flustered looking student arriving at uni compared to everyone around me. Since autumn is here, I can finally drag out some winter clothes I bought in Taiwan.

Nothing much has been happening recently, I've just been busy with university work and all. I had two exams on wednesday and to celebrate after we finished, Tam, Vic, Justin, Pk & I went to karaoke. They all lied and told me they couldn't sing except when I heard them I was like :') you guys can sing well. I managed to meet up with Jen this week too, I'm so glad she goes to QUT as well. I'm still currently surviving at home with my dad & brother, except we're having really crap dinner (as in like instant noodles, hashbrowns and other junk food)......
Usually at around 10:00pm or so as well because that's when my dad gets back from work and we haven't had proper dinner so yeah. Well obviously I could get off my lazy ass to cook but I was busy with exams and filming for our assignment this week so I kind of just let things go the way they wanted. We finally walked down to woolworths to get some food supplies and my brother & I saw Golden gaytime on sale for $5 a box!!!!! That's like $3-4 cheaper than usual. We went just a little bit overboard.

As I mentioned before, Victoria, Tam & I have been attempting to film scenarios between healthcare professionals and patients for our assignment. It was so embarrassing though, we went to SLQ to film and there were clear glass windows..... so everyone could see us trying us wearing our QUT labcoats and walking around/ occasionally yelling (acting as weird patients).
Tam was a geriatric (old) patient with stage 4 cancer and victoria was meant to be the doctor. :P We had so many bloopers though. LIke I was meant to take a mobile off another doctor and put it on the table except it the dropped and fell on the ground while we were filming, hence in the middle you can pretty much looking down at the ground in horror because the mobile was actually Tam's.

I should go to the gym and get my life together, from the way I've been living my life these days you'd think I just suffered from some horrible break up or something because I've been eating whatever I've been getting my hands on. My room is also a gigantic mess, like as in with clothes and food wrappers strewn around everywhere. I've also been addicted to TV episodes of Law&order / Elementary/ NCIS. Great.

I've applied for like a gazillion jobs, hopefully I'll get hired soon. Oh and hopefully I ace my exams tomorrow. Okay, bye!

HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY VIVIENNE :)!

Last night I attended Vivienne's 18th at her house with elaine :) I arrived 2 hours early at elaine's house just to get ready (well I spent like 2/3 of the time observing elaine attempting to put her contacts in HAHAHAHA).
Her parents were so nice and dropped us off at vivienne's place. Her house was so amazing and pretty :') She told us her house was small and simple omg. I met a few new friends there: Hilda, Clare, Tony, Peter, Aaron etc. & I saw a bunch of my primary school friends whom I haven't seen in almost 5 years.

 Elaine, Hilda, Vivienne & I.
Her mum prepared so much food and hung fairy lights around the house, it was so amazing. Her parents left the house afterwards because Vivienne wanted the house to herself.
This was just the 'snack table'. There were Eskies filled to the brim with soft drinks, Beer, 80% alcohol and all that. There was music pounding loudly from speakers too. I think it's the first time I've been to a real party.
She made us play truth or dare games and a few other super awkward ones. I swear I'm cursed, I got a dare to 'Get as close to another person's face without touching'. All my friends would know that is probably one of my biggest fears. Apparently I didn't get close enough though so they made me pocky with elaine. Peter got dared to slow dance with another girl hahahahaha.
Aaron got dared to 'make someone of the opposite gender's heart race without physical contact'. Elaine & I told him to serenade Vivienne since he brought his guitar along with him to the party anyway. Later on a few of us inhaled some helium from the balloons and sang happy birthday to vivienne.
She got a little drunk near the end but we still played the 'king' game. It involved us drawing forks out of a cup, each fork having a unique number. The person who had 'K' written on their fork was the king and they got to dare people with specific numbered forks to do things. They didn't know who had the numbers though, but two guys had to do some breakdance competition against each other haha.
Us admiring Vivienne's beautiful birthday cake (which she butchered while trying to give everyone a piece while she was partially tipsy).
Elaine's dad came and picked us up at around 10:00pm and I slept over at her house. I bussed it home in the morning, picking up some seared salmon sushi on the way for lunch. I should've ate out more often while my parents were away instead of cooking. My dad & brother just came home from Taiwan, they arrived one day earlier than the date they told me -_-. Oh well, I'm such a good daughter I kept the house nice and clean anyway ;)
Dad thinks I've been living like a queen while they've been away simply because the only day I choose to eat 'out', he comes home. So there I was eating sashimi sushi while listening to music haha.
They got me a few things from Taiwan that I requested. My brother went on some shopping spree and bought Vans, clothes, Gundam etc. Mhhm on another note, it's time for me to start studying :x I wish the holidays were longer! Oh well, apparently we get like a one month holiday at the end of this semester. YES!!!!!!
