Pages of a novel

Hello everyone :) I finally went somewhere yesterday after so many days of sitting at home. Originally my friends and I planned a beach day last saturday but some people had things on so we ended up going yesterday. Instead of gold coast though, we headed off to Bribie Island with Richie and his four wheel drive. The trip actually made me realise how little I know, e.g. how you have to let air out of your tyres to go on the sand.

The weather was kind of random yesterday to be honest, it was like rainy to start with and then towards the end of our trip it was warm and sunny, at least we avoided most of the rainy parts of the day when we were driving across the beach.

Finally stopped for lunch and set up a sad place to eat with sand blowing into our food. Then we decided to upgrade ;) ;)

A much happier scene yes? Haha just kidding. A big thanks to Richie for buying some drinks and bringing along the mats/ tarp and tables. We probably would've ended up eating in the car if he hadn't come so prepared.
Found (partitally) crumbled war bunker and despite a sign telling us not to go within 5 metres of the structure, a few people decidedly went inside and climbed to the very top. WITHOUT STAIRS. The rest of us ( okay just the asians) watched on in a mixture of amazement and cautiousness.

We went on to play some 'beach volleyball' and I really must say that hitting the ball hurts like crazy, I don't get how people say it doesn't hurt at all. We were exploring around near the lagoons as well and to our disgust there was this naked mould ridden barbie amidst the murky waters.

such a cute looking couple

After the sun came out we got a little carried away with our 'superpowers'…………...
You notice the inherent gracefulness of Tim and Richie's pose and then there is me looking like I'm about to face plant into the sand.
Its okay, we buried Tim into the sand afterwards and sat on him.
RIP tim.
I don't know why but we started playing all these random games in the sand and found a couple of long as branches to our amusement.

Meet my friend elaine and… my friend the sandman (my tribute to Olaf from the movie Frozen) who is made out of sand a half a spoon that I found lying near the water.

Loved the weather but I got sunburnt so badly.
We found a little area up in the sand dunes which was nice and shady so we chilled there for a while with our coca cola.
A look at our bald selves. Aha, the next photo is deceivingly organised and planned out except it wasn't. The only person who was actually looking at the camera was elaine and the rest of us were just staring off some place into the distance. Gotta love Richie's unintentional bikini model pose ;)
Credits to Richie and elaine for most of the photos above :)

To finish, a lovely picture of the little sand dune area I was talking about. Such a relaxing summer day at the beach.

Hey people! I hope you've all been enjoying your holidays - mine having been that great lately due to some crappy family issues but yeah. I bet I'll be missing my holidays like crazy once uni starts. I went out the other day with my cousin, brother and Kaido to watch 47 Ronin, and I am proud to say that I drove us to southbank (with my mum supervising of course). Despite what Kaido thinks, I actually didn't kill anyone on the way there.

Kaido also brought along some souvenirs he got me from japan, well actually by souvenirs I mean food. This is called a Manju :

They sell maple leaf shaped ones in Hiroshima but the ones he got us were circular shaped. They're japanese confectionary filled with red bean paste if I'm not mistaken. I usually don't like stuff filled with red bean paste because its always too sweet but this one was actually pretty nice.

For once, I also had the patience to sit down and do something to my nails. But I did end up screwing it up a little as I usually do. Anyway, I present to you :

Newspaper nails!

Well not quite 'newspaper' style since I don't have white nail polish unfortunately. I realised the other day all the nail polish in my house is actually my mothers and hence I can never paint my nails in patterns I want because the colours don't match.
Urgh wrinkly skin, this is what happens when you wash a lot of dishes and don't use hand cream little kids. I also need to stop accidentally scratching myself at work. I've just stopped counting my scratches now since I seem to get one every few shifts or so, from seemingly harmless objects I may add. Anyway, good night to you all. I shall go enjoy a movie with a nice bag of cheese flavoured popcorn now.

Hello guys! I'm afraid the breaks between my posts seem to be getting longer and longer… maybe its because I'm slowly turning into some antisocial hermit now. The only thing I do on the computer nowadays is to check people's blogs, read books and occasionally check facebook. Anyhow, its not like my life is all that interesting or anything so yeah.

Catching up with Sally// Found my brother's formal suit ;)

I still have weekly meet ups with my uni friends for food though. We've pretty much run out of places to eat in the city… no joke. We spend ages deciding where to eat haha and of course where to eat dessert afterwards. Fat life. Last week we decided to go Jojo's, it was my first time there and I decided to go a bit more healthy and order salad. It looks nice yes?

Greek Salad from Jojo's

Well…. ho and behold, I find a bug in my salad right before my last bite. I should've taken the offer for a refund but I was too chicken to. Figured I finished like 90% of the food already so… it was kind of awkward. Argh me and my self conscious habits.
We went to have dessert at San Churros last time, we got this share platter for 'two' except we found it pretty hard to finish. The chocolate and sweets were really rich. Tam finished off most of the chocolate though :P The only thing I really liked on the plate was the banana and the churros to be honest.

Over the past few days I've managed to earn back some of the money I spent during christmas :') Me and my colleague rachel decided to go have dinner at Fantasia one day.
Tokyo beef and rice

I also dragged kwok out to watch the book thief with me. I can't believe that I got to meet one of the main characters last year (Geoffrey Rush, who acted as Hans Hubermann). I expected a sad ending but it was still a little depressing to watch. We were meant to go Wagaya after that but it was fully booked out so we found some random sushi train to eat. My major fail plan and then I proceeded to humilate myself by accidentally knocking down a plate of food from the train. Yup.

You know, the problem with working at a retail place is the fact that you always notice all stock you are putting up and inevitably I ended having this random urge to shop at Daiso and I bought like 5 items in under five minutes.  That's saying something considering how big our store is.

Got a eyeshadow palette because my co-worker rachel wanted to teach me how to use make up properly. She came over yesterday and gave me a 'makeover'. Including the drawing of le fake eyebrows. I told her it was hard to do my makeup and she didn't believe me until things turned out disastrously wrong. We quickly rubbed out some of my 'eyebrows'. HAHA.

I'm still not quite used to having eyebrows, as strange as that sounds. I look fierce :P

Oh, I've also been practicing driving. Sorry I'm jumping all over the place in my post aren't I? That's what happens when you stop using your brain for so long… ahem. I've officially got like 36.5 hours on my logbook :3 I started driving around January this year. Today marks an important day in my life.

I GOT MY FIRST CAR!!!

Yay! Okay bye.

Hello guys, long time no talk! I'm finally back from the road trip (with a few dozen mosquito bites as trophies). I am so glad to be back in my own bed.

Anyway, I figured I might as well upload some photos from the trip, it wasn't all that exciting but I guess the most 'interesting' thing I did was watch fireworks on New Years Eve with my cousin and brother at Sydney Harbour but more on that later.

Our first stop was Grafton and we stayed for two nights. Even after so many years of camping and road trips, our favourite camping venue is still there at The Gateway Village in Grafton. Of the whole trip though, that was the only day we actually used our tents. My brother and I kept trying to persuade our parents to stay in cabins/ motels. We got our wish, albeit they were all very dodge except this one we stayed at in Sydney for one night.

Actually, we were just disorganised and couldn't find lodging in Sydney till late because we arrived on the 30th of December which is right before new years so my dad had no choice but to bring us to the only place that had vacancy: Royal Pacific Hotel. One of the few highlights of the trip.

The next morning we spent the day walking around Darling harbour and going to various places to eat. It seems like such a lame thing to do whilst travelling but my brother, cousin and I went to watch two movies when we were in Sydney: Anchorman 2 & Frozen. I really loved Frozen, the art is amazing. Apart from that we also spent our time eating our way through Sydney.

I am so pansy with trying new things and ended up getting eggs benedict with smoked salmon and spinach like usual. This was at Nick's (restaurant along darling harbour) but I was sad because the egg yolk didn't even ooze when I cut it open, it was fully cooked. Anyway, not like any of you care but ya know. Sorry I just write whatever comes to mind…. not that it's a good thing.

We were walking along george street and discovered a matcha dessert themed cafe so we stopped to have some lunch there.

Of course we did order dessert too, but we decided to stay on the safe side and just get ice cream. I saw a lion dance performance too :3 This kid in the lion costume climbed up this pole all by himself just to lift a banner that said 'happy new year'.

Since we were in Sydney and all, we decided to go see the New years eve fireworks while we were at it. Originally we were going to meet in Sydney harbour at 7pm but there was so many people we decided to go early at 5pm and to our dismay there was barely any places to sit.

Whilst we were huddling there miserably waiting for the midnight fireworks, I got out some glowsticks and was offering one to a kid in front of me except the stick kind of snapped and then spurted glow-in-the-dark substance all over their parents. So. Embarrassing. To make it worse, the kid kept asking

'Daddy, why are you glowing?'

Sighs. Thank god the fireworks started soon after that.

It was so hard to get nice pictures because there were gazillion people in front and behind me pushing each other. Oh and of course due to my limited height :')
I missed all the best ones and was so busy trying to take photos and only saw most of the fireworks through my camera screen…. I'm such an idiot.
It felt so good counting down with everyone, one day I shall come back to watch it again with my friends.
The aftermath however was…. wild. It took us almost half an hour to get through the crowds and there were people dancing crazily with their shirts of and randoms came up to us and told us to scream into their video camera :P

So that was my new years :3 Hoping I'll do something of worth this year.

P.s I have finally started driving practice!! I've got 3 hours on my own and 2hrs with a trainer today (which means six hours WOOT). He made me go on the highway and try merging etc. on my first day. Thank god nobody died.

I was going to blog about my road trip / new years today but currently not in the mood. I figured I should not start off with a negative post for the new year.

Anyway, happy new year to you all :) may 2014 bring lots of good opportunities. I am hoping that this year I'll be able to motivate myself to make the most out of my life.

Well….
I can improve

mentally
physically

and of course on my study habits mmmmmhm…. Well.

I shall leave that for later shan't I ? (Since I'm on holidays till april YIPEE).
