Pages of a novel

Hey guys, sadly my short uni holidays have already come to an end. Well, it ended like four days ago but still. Last saturday I met up with Jen and natalie for some brunch. We decided to eat at Brew which is located in the brisbane CBD, it was my first time there. I remember walking past it heaps of times but kind of kept thinking it was some dodgy place, or as many people say, a 'rape dungeon'. I blame the dark narrow alleyway.

Anyway, I was surprised to find that the interior was actually very spacey and the food was a very affordable price (compared to other breakfast/ cafe stores which I have been to). The approximate price range was between like $8-14. I ended up ordering poached eggs on ciabatta. I thought it sounded a bit plain so I opted for extra avocado and bacon which was another $7.

Shared some chips with natalie as well, they came with a truffle oil dip. Sooooooo good. I haven't been very disciplined with my food lately. Who am I kidding, I wasn't even that disciplined to begin with. The total I paid wasn't too bad, around $20, considering I ate so many things.
Natalie is super extroverted, she started chatting to these backpackers in the cafe, three guys who were from alaska, hong kong and scotland respectively. Didn't really end up doing much after that - I seem to be bored of shopping in the city already. There never seems to be any good stock so I never find anything I want. Natalie did help me pick out a face moisturiser though. My friends tell me sometimes you grow pimples because your skin is too dry - I think that may be happening to me. Mum wasn't helping much, she just told me to use body moisturiser on my face instead - to which my friends looked at me in horror.

Had work the next day but dad dug me up out of bed early to eat breakfast at The coffee club. We always end up eating there because my parents rarely try new food.

Well now you see there is a difference with make up and no make up. I think I am slowly starting to master the art of using it. Kind of. Have yet to practice giving myself fake eyebrows.
Light start breakfast - poached egg with tomato wedges, avocado and cheese. I ended up stealing some of my dad's bacon though.

Apart from that, it was my brother's birthday this monday :3 I was gonna buy him a cake but couldn't find any decent ones.

I amused myself with editing my brother's skin with a new iphone app I found. HAHAHAHA. I was totally the best sister and brought home maccas for dinner on his birthday. He requested it okay, I'm not abusive.

He ate so much… a large double quarter pounder meal, cheeseburger & 20 nuggets. I wish I had fast metabolism.

Yes, and a birthday wouldn't be complete without a cake would it? ;)

Don't worry, I've still been cooking 'normal food' for dinner. Now that my parents are off in america, there is a tonne of food in the fridge we have yet to finish so I kind of just try incorporate as many ingredients together as possible.
Wakame (Japanese seaweed), cucumber and carrot salad.

Chicken, shiitake mushroom and ginger porridge // egg with carrot, kimchi and spring onion.

Nandos flavoured lightly grilled chicken with cucumber // tomato and egg dish.

Hopefully I shall clear out the fridge soon, then I can commence food that I want. Totally over uni already, I am constantly in a party-ing/celebrating mood. Haha. Anyway, good night everyone :) I shall go watch a movie or something.

Folks, on the 23rd of April in 2014, I officially became an amazing matchmaker. That is to say, I quite successfully (if I do say so myself) introduced two friends of mine to each other and I do believe that my attempt was successful - if rather obvious and slightly crude.
Everyone met up in the afternoon to watch the LEGO movie and in the cinemas, lets just say we were all really good friends and chose our seats really carefully. HAHA. Actually, I almost died of excitement/ happiness because my plan worked out well.
After the movie, we played a bit of pool and afterwards went to play cards just to kill time. Actually, I seem to be on a winning or lucky streak for any kind of game I attempt recently. Like with the mini golf as well as pool. I sunk quite a few balls in, which I usually never do. I am normally the person who never sinks anything except the black ball….. (:" We were playing cards and because Victoria lost, she had to go say hello to a random korean guy (in korean of course). To make it less awkward, she went up to the guy at noggi and bought some frozen yoghurt and said 'thank you' instead, whilst shaking his hand. I still died laughing.

Went to get my Wagaya sushi cravings fixed, I also got forced to try eel (Unagi) after so many months of being pestered. Well I did promise I'd try some if I got a job at Daiso. Ha, that was back in august last year.
Can I  just say, I really love Pk's expressions/poses. I swear every photo is spiced up cause of that girl ;) cause she is so hot ya know.

We went to south bank to chill/ have dessert after dinner. I am proud to say I did not eat any though. Must get back on healthy diet (good joke penny, good joke).
To be honest, I have no idea what the dessert was. It kind of looked like a traffic accident after everyone attempted to eat a piece.

Ended up doing a half a years worth of exercise that night because we started playing 'foot tiggy' on the sand.
We were trying to take a group photo and a group of caucasian girls offered to take it for us. Not even being racist haha, its just that a few seconds later, they asked if they could take a photo with us using their phone. I found it quite amusing. Maybe its because we were such a large group of asians.
Medical imaging kids vs. Dentistry students. Obviously we are the classy ones.

Near the end, I decided to throw away all reason and sacrifice my good image (cough cough) for the greater good of the potential couple. Omg, I still cannot get over what happened at the end. Ultimate success mate. Well, the best that one could ask for on first meeting.

Well, that is it for now everyone. Perhaps I shall be updating soon enough. Parents are leaving for America tonight. Time to test my cooking skills. I'm insulted that they bought like months worth of frozen food to keep in the freezer. Please.

Hey guys! I'm currently still enjoying my one week holiday hehe, so far my days have still been busy to the max. I kind of like it that way because it forces me to be physically active and so that I don't sit around idly whilst eating whatever I see. Last sunday pretty much at Jen's house. She would make the best housewife ever I swear… she can stand in the kitchen for up to 5 hours VOLUNTARILY, just washing, cooking and chopping food.

She made me her own personalized concoction of Fizzy cloudy apple juice with a hint of ginger! Nice touch with the lime there ;) She is still single by the way people!
Oh and she made some yummy pizza scrolls as well!! Her sister and I 'taste-tested' for her ;) since they were for her university friends. It was nice to just chill at her house, ended up watching a movie and went home really late. Well, at least mum picked me up. The perks of using 'driving practice' as an excuse to come over and let me drive home.

On monday, I met up with a few highschool friends and we went to do something a little different:

Mini golf! (Which I discovered I have a talent for bahaha, or maybe I was just lucky).

To our surprise, Kaido was the one who suggested this + organised the outing. Ha, our little kiddo here is finally starting to mature! I hit randomly but somehow ended winning the game, I even beat kaido. Yes, life achievement considering he is supposed to be sporty one there.

Whilst we were waiting for everyone to arrive, I texted a korean friend in korean asking why he was so ugly. BAHAHA. I learnt that phrase off my workmates. I learn about life from them I swear.  Everyone came to chill at my house afterwards and we persuaded (more like wheedled) kaido to drive us to Sunnybank to have dinner. We ended up eating at Ku-o , it's one of my favourite Japanese restaurants there simply because it is so delicious and cheap as well. Here was my amazing taro latte!
Bumped into kwok there as well and I totally got conned by jennifer into believing that kwok finally got a girlfriend. LOL. Can I just say, the Papa roti bread is freaking amazing?!?!?!?! How did I not know the existence of it until just two weeks ago? Thanks tam for introducing it to me. I feel like buying a whole big bag of it now.
 Photo-ception!

The next morning, I met up with janice and Jen to go eat brunch at Pablo in New farm. Jen introduced me to it before and I must say that all the meals I've had there so far have been really yummy. This is what I ordered:
Smoked salmon, shaved cucumber, caper & herb pickle, free-range dill scrambled eggs, smoked tomato compote, seeded peasant toast, fresh lemon

I think if they had a bigger store, they would earn heaps more money though. It always seems to be so full of people when I go, even though it was already like 11am when I actually arrived. Janice wore a lolita dress!
Hehe, she made me some cute bobby pins shaped like cookies out of polymer clay. Man, that girl sure is talented with these things! Looks good enough to eat!
 Soooooo, who looks the oldest?
Can't believe I've known Janice for over 11 years and Jen for about 6. Always thought time would make everything different but it still seems the same. I feel like my life stopped at highschool, haven't really matured since then haha.
Jenwen became our personalised chef again ;) We ended up eating Sukiyaki at her house!! Haven't had it in years!!
Looks so effortless right? Actually, Jen's sister took a while to artfully arrange this so it would look nice on photos. Yes, this is what we do with our life. Food is the love of my life.

Thanks Jen, for all the good food & janice for the errr, almost edible cookie pins :3

Hey everyone! I notice that I've been very open to new things lately - I keep wanting to eat at different places, try out different looks, do different activities. Maybe some part of me feels that my life is way too mundane. Anyway, my days have still bee quite packed and I'm really glad to have a week off (easter holidays).

My co-worker rachel is returning to Japan and I spent the last couple of days helping her pack/ sort out shipping problems. Seriously, DHL messed things up so bad, between not clarifying what documents were required and sending dodgy people to pick up her luggage. Anyway, glad that it is finally fixed!

I was chilling with pk and we went into valley girl (still my favourite clothing store). We got bored so we picked out 'outfits' for each other, ones that we wouldn't usually wear. The above photo shows what she picked out for me. I look so gangster. Too bad I just look like a pedophile with sunglasses. The perks of having a round face.

I also had the pleasure of attending Rachel's farewell party which was held at one of my other co-worker's (Camille) house.
Love my fellow Daiso friends, too bad some of them went to the Indooroopilly store to work ):
Just ordered some pizza and Camille threw together some salad. Rachel kept trying to make me alcoholic drinks HAHAHA. They all kind of looked at me strangely because I told them I've never gotten drunk. Well, I am one of the youngest I suppose.
With my little cutie, IVYYYYYYYY!

Hehe, every week I always go out to eat food with my uni friends, I swear half of our friendship is based on food. Ahem. Tam shouted us hotpot because she recently got a new job!! Thank you tam ❤
There were actually two pots… and we finished like 90% of it. This photo looks kind of funny, little Yoonie with a huge pot of food. Had an awesome karaoke session afterwards…. this is what we do when we skip lectures, which happens a little too often to be good for us academically. My dream finally came true - I got to hear Joon and Yoonie sing together, seriously what is with koreans and their professional singing skills?!?

It was good friday today so I went with my mum to Hope Church to attend easter service along with elaine and her mum. We played some games, one including where we got given materials and had to make a three-dimensional model of what happened during easter. So we had to make a tomb where Jesus was entombed as well as two angels and three women. We got egg cartons, toilet paper, paper & paper clips so our options were pretty limited. This was the result:

HAHA pretty creative though - if I do say so myself! We won the challenge, elaine's mum was jumping for joy HAHAHA. Afterwards, it was FOOD TIME!!!
Then there were a few performances, this family came up to sing and they were so talented!!!
Went to elaine's house afterwards while our mothers went to Mcdonalds to have coffee and catch up. I swear I've been to her house so many times it's like my second home. Like… I lie on the floor of her living room and everything.
She entertained me with some hilarious stories to do with her partying life style on UQ gatton campus. Our mothers finally came back, and wanted some photos. Made us retake until there were 'less wrinkles'.
Pretty cool hey? Our mothers are good friends, so are we :P Okay sorry I'm so easily amused. Do we look alike (to our respected parent) ?

Had barbecue for dinner again, which has been a common occurrence during the last few weeks since we've been getting really lazy.
