Fanfare second round
HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY FOONIE :)
Last night our school symphony orchestra and symphonic band & big band performed at the QUT gardens theatre complex for the second round of fanfare (competition) :D Apparently symphony hasn't made it to the second round in years, so pretty happy with that. It was pretty funny though, because around one hour before the time we were supposed to perform, elaine called sunny, telling her that we were going to perform in five minutes.
Sunny believed her, so she pretty much sprinted to the venue, with ivan and dylan in tow because they happened to be with her. Good job elaine :L Oh and credits to richie for the photos / video :)
Performed, didn't do well on the first song & and for the last song, the brass apparently sped up near the end so all of us started playing faster with them :L It was really fun though, pretty intense. The three songs we played were:
Valse from sleeping beauty - Tchaikovsky
Prelude & aragonaise - George Bizet
Florish, song & Toccata - Claude T Sm.
lol, Mr. Haynes was there as well, he came to the back of the dodgy store-room where we were packing our instruments up after the performance. Gotta admit he's pretty dedicated, coming to our concerts. Then again, so was Mr. Morrison, always walking around school. Ah, enjoying this school-work free day.
I should really be doing UMAT though. Dad keeps telling me that I shouldn't prioritise UMAT, that I should just aim for getting good OP. I think he has given up on me getting into medicine.
