Melbourne day two
Okay I'm back again to blog about Melbourne!! The night before, we met our new roomie, who was from perth and was travelling along so natalie, being the social kid she is invited her to come and hang out with us today. We all woke up early in the morning and went to have breakfast at one of the nice cafes near Flinders Street station with Natalie's friend (daniel). No, not her boyfriend, another daniel hahaha.
The portions were so huge, I wasn't expecting it to be so large probably because the food in Sydney was much more expensive and the price I paid for the breakfast was decent. I ordered something called B.E.T.S which had like eggs, baby spinach, bacon, sourdough which was all drizzled with a bit of mayonnaise. The lavender grey tea I ordered was kind of disappointing though, it tasted pretty much the same as earl grey tea.
The rest of the others ordered french toast except for Rose (our roomie) and let me just say, this is the largest toast I've ever seen in my life, it was actually much larger in real life.

We walked around for a little bit in the city after that. Daniel left to go to watch the penguin parade at phillip Island and Rose went to the museum so the rest of us just walked around. I must say, the architecture is so beautiful!! Everything looks so detailed and unique. I also love the fact that it kind of has a look of historical buildings about it!
The weather actually wasn't that cold, even though everyone told us it would be freezing, I'm very thankful for that since I don't exactly own that many winter clothing.
After a bit of shopping, I left to meet up with Sally!! I hadn't seen her for a long time, since she moved to Melbourne to study. I can really see why now, it's kind of like a mixture of Sydney and Brisbane - it has the cleanliness of brisbane and the shopping/eating convenience of Sydney. It was so good to catch up, I was still too full from breakfast to eat lunch with her but she shouted me a drink at this jap restaurant when I went with her to have lunch.
She then took me to Melbourne Central shopping centre, it's so different from brisbane shopping centres. They have all these really cool structures.
Of course, there was also lots of shopping places hahahaha. I bought a nice coat for $25 at Valleygirl there. Sally had to leave at around four so I headed over to China town to find natalie & Aya (i'm so proud, I didn't even get lost hahahaha) Looks like Melbourne & I get along quite well.
For dinner, natalie took us to a buffet restaurant called Kitchen workshop which is located in the Crown Casino. Apparently it's really famous. We were so lucky that we turned up early since there were gazillion people waiting to get in afterwards. The entrance fee was alright I guess, $28.50 which is decent for a all-you-can-eat I think. It used to be $25 according to natalie.
The had such a wide range of salads, which for some reason I was craving that day. There was heaps of other stuff as well, but I didn't take pictures of them, you'll just have to use your imagination ;)
I got sick of the roast real quickly and after having like two big bowls of salad I went over to the dessert section, which looked divine.
Rose met up with us for dinner as well and we were all having a competition to see who could set up their dessert the prettiest. This was mine:
We were all so full afterwards it wasn't even funny omg. But I must say, the apple blueberry crumble was sooooo good. We walked through the casino to exit, everyone kept paying me out because I was the only one under 18 and so they couldn't walk past the gaming area hahaha. The inside of the casino is so pretty. One day, one day I'll save up and live there for like three days.
Photos do not do it justice but whatever.
Being typical asians outside at the entrance. It's okay, there were heaps of other people doing that too.
Went walking around for a little bit since Jimmy told us that the night scenery around that area was really pretty. He wasn't wrong.
Oh and, this area was also called southbank. Well, it really does rival Brisbane's southbank doesn't it?
