Pages of a novel

Oh my goodness it's been almost a month since I've made my appearance, time seems to be passing by much to quickly nowadays. My life recently is pretty much : wake up early -> clinical -> eat-> read->sleep *repeat*. I've obviously been very lazy recently and am sad to report I am definitely not keeping up with exercise and that my appetite has also been increasing with the coldness of the weather.

Anyhow, I thought I might just pop by and recap some of the things that have been happened the last two months or so since I didn't exactly blog about the month before. Seems a tad awkward now thats okay :P Starting with exam period..

I think I balanced things quite well the two weeks before I had my exams - even managed to go out on a few outings whilst cramming like crazy. One of the few times where I didn't stress eat and even my parents commented saying I looked slightly slimmer. HAHAHA if only things stayed as they were. Anyhow, I'll stop complaining about my expanding waistline.
I met up with high school friends to watch fast & furious 7, which was such a good movie!! The feelings were strong & overall it was just a pretty good night. We've sort of developed a habit of crashing at my house after outings to play monopoly deal because there is simply nothing to do in the city. I'm proud to say that I always end up smashing them in the game and "one game" turns into many before they give up and go home ;) Muahahaha. I guess all those years of getting unlucky cards is finally coming to an end.

I also had some lunch with some high school girlfriends or with Vincent :3 in a attempt to keep myself sane from all the studying. After the exams, my uni friends and I went over to my house to cook up a storm!! We were actually all so exhausted and hungry so were only planning on doing some BBQ but someone mentioned they felt like kimchi ji gae & I mentioned I had some kimchi in my fridge so one thing lead to another :P
We ended up with some marinated chicken thigh fillets, kimchi ji gae, salad & a very succulent steak which everyone was feeding off :3

We then spent the remainder of the afternoon watching some TV together because we were too lazy to go karaoke. After a dinner of Pizza we headed to south bank for some dessert at san churros! We kind of came up with a very lame signature pose as radiography students haha.

A few days later, Vincent & I were hanging out :P and he finally mustered up enough courage to go replace his dying laptop. We went and got his 'bae' LOL. I successfully convinced him to get a Macbook Air just like me ;) Vincent's friend kindly lent him a store discount card to purchase the laptop and it was hilarious because a store employee tried to up sell some extra items to us to which we politely declined. When we finally headed to the registers and Vincent pulled out his friends card, the store employee embarrassedly apologised to us saying that if he'd known Vincent worked there, it would've stopped his earlier attempts.  HAHAHA. All the while I stood smirking on the side.
We've finally sorta settled into our new house (we merely moved from one unit to another unit but still) & I went to Ikea with my mum to pick out a desk. Despite my parents protests, I insisted on a white desk & assembled it all by myself!! As you can see, I'm kind of trying to go for a colour scheme here :P

A few days later, I started my clinical placement. The beginning of eleven weeks....... by the end of first week I was incredibly exhausted. I've even resorted to sleeping earlier, not that it's doing me much good since I have to wake up earlier too ): But I try to meet up with vic,pk, tam, justin & joon every friday. After that first week, we met up for korean BBQ buffet followed by an intense karaoke session. Actually, I went for two karaoke sessions..
We asked jackie to join the photo since Joon wasn't there with us
*photoshops joons face onto jackie's*

On the 28th of April it was my brother's 18th birthday :3 So I took him and my mum to Soul bistro for dinner!
Service was on point, just like last time :3 Prior to arriving at the restaurant I went to buy my brother a birthday cake & a Herschel backpack for his present. We rarely buy presents for each other but I figured I might as well become a nicer sister HAHA.

I shamelessly went down into culture kings, a little asian in QUT uniform. So awkward.
Food was good, I think I am still in love with their pork belly dish. We got a package with an A&B appetiser along with dessert & chose our own mains!
I proceeded to eat two slices of cake the next day after my brothers birthday & a few days later I was invited to Vincent Wen's birthday at the Archive Beer Boutique in west end. Being ravenously hungry I ordered a huge cheeseburger with chips, it was amazingly satisfying but also made me feel incredibly greasy afterwards.

Obviously, I am handling placement stress with bad food....I met up with uni friends last saturday to plan our Japan trip and we ended up sharing six donuts between the four of us. We tried telling ourselves it wasn't that bad, only about 1.5 donuts per person HAHAHAHA. Sweet cravings satisfied though.
These days I spend my life walking around looking like a disheveled zombie in a baggy uniform so on the weekend when we met up I thought I'd try get a bit more presentable - a girl's gotta feel attractive sometimes. Nah kidding, I tried eyeliner before I was about to remove my make up at the end of the day.

Anyhow, that just about sums it up for now. I hope I'll slowly get my life together - finish reorganising my room, eat healthy again, start some form of exercise & successfully plan my trip to Japan at the end of the year!!

Hey guys!
I've been a bit busy with exams lately sooo it kind of explains my absence for a while (that and I've become pretty lazy lately). Due to being busy and moving house as well I've kind of stopped exercising in between and I think it's beginning to catch up on me. Sounds ridiculous but I just don't want to slip backwards, I feel as though i've been making good progress with my life this year sorta.

I'm just afraid of falling back down the same hole again - because I was on the way to building a better me (HAHA cliche I know). It's not happening yet, I'm just afraid i'll get complacent that's all, if that makes sense? My brain is addled from all the studying I've been doing lately. However I'm surprised to say that I felt sorta peaceful doing something productive - like a sort of contentment (though overall I still prefer lazing about!).

I can say that I did my best to cram this semesters content within the last week or so, I'd like to think that it's an improvement from feelings of regret & discontent I used to feel :3 I'm done with uni for the semester and next week will bring the beginning of clinical placements yet again. Fingers crossed I'll begin exercise, do well in clinical. By the end of placement I hope to be looking & feeling fit - back on the healthy path!

I also plan to save up some more money ^^ as I may be going on a trip to Japan/Korea and possibly Taiwan with Jenwen & some university friends at the end of the year - it is definitely something to look forward to and something I and determined to make happen! I don't know why I'm suddenly blogging about life goals at like 1am in the morning, especially since I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night due to study obligations. However, just wanted to note it down ~ I suddenly have this urge to start using my time better - focusing on my hobbies, becoming a even better friend or perhaps forming a more close relationship with my parents. Well baby steps, I'm still a lazy person after all so it will still take willpower to get off my backside and to do something like bake a cake.

I used to bake so much more - I got a crazy urge to make some desserts during exam period and I hope to act on it. I miss making things and seeing people enjoy it~ :3 HAHA yes so I plan to look fit and yet I'm plotting on baking more cakes, that shall be interesting.

Okay sorry Justin HAHAHA you say I always post bad photos of you :P It's okay, here is one as compensation to represent your true glory:

Anyhow, I'm off to bed now, for some well deserved rest! :)

Today at work...

Me: Do you reckon it's big enough (referring to some stock we were putting up)
manager: HA! That's what she said
Workmate: ................
manager: what? I'm just welcoming her to the real world
Me: you don't need to welcome me to the real world, I already go to QUT ;) Get it? QUT, university for the real world.

I don't think I could've sunk any lower than this HAHAHAHA, my workmate stared at me so speechlessly at first I thought she didn't get the joke.

Hello guys! I apologise for my posts which seem to jump between extremely happy one minute and extremely serious the next but anyhow I'm a female who IS still in her teens sooooooooooo yeah #legitimate excuse. Anyhow it's pretty late and I should be getting a good nights sleep but I figured since I'm not up to doing study at the moment I might as well blog!

I've sorta just come out of a bad week of binging on very very unhealthy foods but a part of me doesn't regret it at all since well, food just tastes so amazing. I literally go to bed every night looking forward to eating breakfast the next day HAHAHA! I guess it was also because my mum was in Taiwan so I was in charge of cooking dinner for a couple of nights. Sad enough to say, although I planned to just cook for my dad & brother but not have any myself, I ended up eating with them because I couldn't resist since I was replicating my mum's dishes that I usually love to eat.
I've also been visiting Jen's house just to catch up (and scab her food). Seriously the girl knows how to cook such a wide range of dishes I always seem to be eating something different every time I go over (and that is quite often). It is my home away from home HAHA. The other night we all gathered for some Taiwanese style shaved ice topped with condensed milk & strawberries before playing some monopoly.
Every other day, I seem to find myself eating out with my uni friends; needless to say we would gladly skip lectures just to go feast. We went to madtongsan the other day for a huge lunch with four share platters. It. Tasted. So. Good.
I went to watch Cinderella last friday with Vincent and also visited Motto Motto Japanese restaurant again for lunch. I chose a pork belly dish and we shared Crab Croquettes. Vincent says his photo of the croquettes are better but I beg to differ ;) soz.

On Sunday my mum finally came back!! Surprisingly, I found myself looking forwards to having dinner with her and my dad&brother even after a long day of work. My dad usually eats a lot and for aaaages so that is explanation enough :P
We went to HanaZushi located in Sunny Park as per usual. My dad always likes to go to the same food places. It's so embarrassing ; we go there so often now that they know my dad and can predict his orders. He likes to pretend he is biffles with everyone -_- asking for more Sake.
I tried to eat healthy guys. I really did. But who could have resisted these? Oh and beautifully deep fried Chicken Karaage? Apart from that, my mum also brought back a few things :D She has decided it is time for me to keep up with maintaining my skin so she brought back a few face masks, moisturisers and even my very own toner!
I also searched online for popular products and came across the Lineage Water sleeping pack which seemed to have good reviews so I got mum to bring it back for me. I've only used it three times thus far so I can't really give a review of it (also because I am clueless). Buuuut, it does feel rather moisturising and smells very nice.
It's a cool sort of cream that isn't too thick which is then absorbed into your skin when you pat it gently on your face for a while.

Mum also brought back a facial pack of sorts? It's by this brand called Moistfull from Etude house. We both don't really know how good it is but hey, A+ for packaging right? I am attracted.
Uhhhhh Collagen facial freshener, sleeping pack, hand cream, collagen emulsion?? Not too sure the difference between the freshener and emulsion.
I went on a date with Pk to Indooroopilly shopping centre and visited French Twist cafe for some excellent Mocha. I think I'm starting to be able to tell between good coffee and bad coffee. Okay so, mocha isn't considered legitimate coffee but still.
My online order from Cotton on finally arrived!! Every time I try ordering online there seem to be a few mishaps along the way :P but they resent it out to me even though it was my own fault. Thank you!
I got up bright and early this morning after leg day and attempted to get in a healthy breakfast!!
Sorry, I really suck at cutting eggs because I was too lazy to use the egg slicer, but yeah. I made Ajitsuke Tamago (Japanese style ramen eggs) last night because I couldn't be bothered studying :x
This healthy sorta streak lasted until I caved to like 1/3 a can of pringles ..... there were four cans in the cupboard, courtesy of my dad, how was a girl to resist? Okay I don't need to justify this HAHAAHAHA. The worst was yet to come - I had a Chirashi lunch set from Hosokawa and then few hours later I went with some uni friends to Shabu house for the first time! (Hot pot buffet)
Verdict? WORTH IT. TAKE MA MONEY. They have unlimited Aburi salmon for me to feast on and I was so happy munching on them I kind of neglected to fill my hot pot more than once. I wish I came hungrier.

.... we actually skipped our last lecture for this semester to do this HA HA HA. Oh dear. It was our 'celebration' for finishing and of course, we shall be 'celebrating' again probably after every single exam we have and then a final 'big celebration' after our end of semester exams (which happen to be in two weeks time -_-, joys of medical imaging). Oh and then... after 11 weeks of placement, another big celebration ;)

These people make me happy :3

Well that is all for now! Good night and best of luck with midsems people. Vincent is coming over tomorrow and we are going to do some study hopefully (and not get too caught up with eating food) :P

Sometimes in life, it is so hard to accept that everything, no matter how good, comes to an end - nothing is able to stay frozen and untouched by time. Things that matter, moments you want to remain in and memories you want to preserve may slip right out of your hands no matter how hard you try.

As sentimental people, sometimes it is hard to accept change. You want to keep chasing, to keep trying to keep things the way they are but eventually the only path is to harden your heart and to move on. Of course, bigger and better things sometimes come along but still, I am reluctant to let go of the past even if it become destructive.

I don't often have incentive to move forward, I spend much effort trying to recreate or to grasp again something that I feel was once important to me. However, at times I guess it is a necessity to let go and move forward for the sake of a future. Life is filled with struggle and growth, but I know that there exists happiness and fulfilment also as we proceed.

Thank you for spending time with me today, I needed it more than I realised. Without knowing, you gave a sense of gratitude all of a sudden, for having friends like you. I feel more inspired now, to discover things for myself knowing that you are so willing to do the same.
