She sat there staring at the whiteboard blankly, it was hard to concentrate on what the teacher was saying. It was just so hard to concentrate these days, thoughts just kept popping into her head, she wasn't in the mood to listen. She was never one of those smart people out there, it took effort, real effort to actually get an A unlike everyone else out there. But right now she had to admit it to herself, she was spending more time thinking about Jace than her studies. Great. Deep inside she felt a tinge of guilt starting to unfurl inside her chest, she knew she wasn't exactly doing something productive. Her thoughts kept drifting back the cold look she had seen on his face, they way his hands gripped his ipod. There was just something about him that was so...lonely.

Don't kid yourself Sienna, she told herself. Why would he care about hurting you like that? He must've been happy to get rid of her. She blinked a few times to keep her eyes from filling up with unecessary tears. What was the point in crying? It was so...girly. She wasn't playing in one of those romance dramas, no one was going to come and sweep her off her feet, that much was obvious. It had just hurt so much, watching herself and Jace drift apart. They avoided looking at each other now, they never talked anymore and whenever they walked past each other in the corridor it would always be like strangers. She didn't know what to say, every time she got into a 5 metre radius she could always feel so nervous. Fingering a strand of long brown hair she let out a resignated sigh, life was so complicated these days. She half-wished that she was back in kindy garden where the only requirement was to have fun.

Suddenly she started as there was a loud crack which sounded right above her head. Cold shards of glass rained down on the crown of her head and she could hear her classmates screaming in panic. A warm trickle ran down her forhead, dimly she was aware of the teacher shouting at her to stay calm. Her hands were starting to feel cold but it barely concerned her, the cuts on her head made by the glass had turned her world clear and suddenly she could remember every sharp detail of the times when she'd been with Jace. It no longer felt like a distant memory, it seemed that the very fibre of her being was with the past, that she was standing right in front of Jace. She could feel a smile forming on her lips. However, a few moments later she was yanked out of her happy daze as a harsh bright light was shone down into her eyes. Faces of anxious looking doctors swam into her vision as she tried to move her arms to sit up. Gentle hands pushed her back down and her world transformed to a inky darkness.
