custard pudding recipe

Hello! :]
Today I had chinese school but instead of listening properly like i told myself to, i talked to janice & coco haha~ me and janice were kinda planning to start listening to the teacher so we could actually learn something but then we got bored when the teacher started talking about poems -- oh please, we just did that in english D:

Okay besides that, it was pretty interesting talking to coco haha since her view of life is from a rich person's point of view ;o like literally she gets new clothes to wear like every single day, no kidding! I'm pretty happy at the moment~ cause I did something productive towards my goals which = Going out to exercise, I speed walked like 5 laps of the oval and ran two, shush i know its nothing but you know, at least i tried right? :) maybe i can grow! according to this taiwanese chick, she grew like 3 cm when she was around my age/one year old, so maybe i'll grow too if i get enough sleep hohoho (H) watch out, my tall friends!

I made custard pudding again, so i'll put the recipe on this post so that any of you can make it if you feel like it, here you go cindy :] you can go try it. By the way, the wording is probably really crap cause I am re-writing it in english cause it was in jap before :D & no i'm not that pro at jap, i just google translated words i didn't know haha

Baked custard pudding

Ingredients (for pudding)

-500ml full cream milk
-5 eggs

-80grams of white sugar

-vanilla essence (optional i guess but it'd taste better if there was)

Caramel sauce

-1 1/2 tablespoon of water

-40 grams of white sugar

-1 tablespoon of water ( for later)

Method:

1. Melt a little butter/margarine and brush it onto the ramekins for the pudding ( or you can use cups which is what i did for the first batch cause i'm noob) You can also choose to do this later haha. Actually i forgot to grease it the first time but it came out alright

2. Caramel sauce: put the sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoon of water into a small bowl and microwave it for around 2 minutes. Take the bowl out, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of water and mix quickly.

*note: steam will rise up when you put the water in.

3. Microwave further while till the mixture turns a honey colour. (length of time depends on microwave so microwave it at short intervals) Afterwards carefully pour a small amount into each ramekin (around perhaps 2 mm)

4. pudding: Add the milk and sugar into a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave for 5 minutes and stir gently. Crack and stir in 5 eggs, mix well.

5. Put pudding mixture through a strainer and add vanilla essence ( as much as you like but be careful not to overdo it, i just poured it in a circular motion once)

6. Pour the mixture into the prepared ramekinds, find a deep oven-safe container and place in the ramekinds, fill up the container with water so that it comes up ALMOST halfway of the ramekin.

7. Preheat oven at 150 degrees celsius, then place the pudding in, it bakes for about 45 minutes but remember to keep poking a skewer/something sharp through one of the pudding mixtures to check that its cooked.

8. Take it out of the oven, cut around the ramekin to loosen the pudding and dump it onto a plate, there you go :D !
